Trolley Locks and Keyring tokens
In mid February we installed our first comprehensive trolley lock system at a large format supermarket. At the recently re-developed Levin New World, the Owner/Operator wanted to introduce our popular E100C Convenience trolleys, but did not want them creating collection and storage problems alongside his main fleet of our FC -Comp trolleys. The solution - trolley locks on the E100C trolleys combined with distribution of our keyring tokens that had been branded 'New World'.
The trolley locks are released by a 50cent or $1 coin or by the token on the keyring, and the shopper can retrieve the coin or token when the trolley is returned. Levin New World have offered the branded keyring tokens to all shoppers in return for a donation to one of the charities the store supports. Initial support has been very good, and shoppers are quick to appreciate the availability of their preferred trolley, and in addition, the carparks, trolley bays and surrounding streets are not littered with stray E100C trolleys! We are looking forward to introducing the same system into Hastings Pak N Save later in March.
